摘要
A deep and long cruising range AUV URASHIMA has been developed by JAMSTEC since 1998. We plan to complete the development in the 7 years from 1998 to 2004. The body of the vehicle built up in 2000, and then various functional tests were carried out in the sea-going tests. The second stage of development from 2003 to 2004, the vehicle uses solid Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell system for power source. The matching between power system and the vehicle, the autonomous function at long cruising trial will be tested in the second stage. The dimensions and weight of the AUV are 10.6m(L) x 1.3m(W) x 1.5m(H), and about 10 tons in the air. The maximum working depth is 3,500m. The maximum cruising range is 300km. The instruments for science research are a CTDO, a side-scan sonar, a digital still camera with a thermoelectrically cooled CCD image sensor, a TV camera. As results of the first trial at second stage, the vehicle dived to 300m and it cruised 3km. This is first time achievement as Fuel Cell Underwater Vehicle all over the world.
