摘要
It is a common practice to rely on empirical relationships in order to compute the ultimate bearing capacity of deep foundations. Validating theoretical results with field tests allows to reduce uncertainties and to design less expensive structures. The objective of this paper is to simulate the mechanical response obtained from a load test, which include both axial and lateral loads performed in the so-called hill zone in Mexico City, using 3D finite element models. Good agreement was observed between the measured and computed responses. t-z, Q-z and p-y curves were generated from the numerical models for the geomaterials found at the test site.
