摘要
The application of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) in the field of static bolted flange connections is well established. FEA is being used both in the design and trouble shooting arenas. The extent of accuracy of the FE solution is dependant on assumptions about or approximations in model geometry, material properties/behaviour and boundary conditions. An overview of the philosophy behind establishing an FE model for a static bolted flange assembly application is given. The more general approximations made in model geometry, boundary conditions and material behaviour are reviewed. The object is to provide non-FE specialists with some insight into the requirements for application of valid FE modelling to static bolted flange connections.
