摘要
In the modern era of technology, the use of wired transmission is not reliable as it incurs an additional cost of establishment, construction, and maintenance. So, the wireless techniques are being implemented because wireless networks overcome all these disadvantages and also, they provide a better functionality. One prominent example of wireless networks are MANETs (Mobile Adhoc Networks). MANETs allow the nodes to send the data in the form of packets via a predefined route. In the case of failure of one selected path, the other paths should be available to continue transmission. Selection of the route to transfer the packets is done by using routing protocols. There are numerous routing protocols that are widely used in MANETs such as Adhoc On-Demand Distance Vector Routing (AODV), Destination Sequenced Distance Vector Routing (DSDV), Dynamic Source Routing (DSR), Multipath Source Routing (MSR). In this paper, we will discuss the various existing protocols and try to choose the best among them in order to achieve the reliable and efficient transmission between two nodes in a network.
