摘要
The planning and engineering work done by the company Gipromez (formerly the State All-Union Institute for the Planning of Metallurgical Plants) over its history of more than 70 years has been directed toward solving economic problems that are important to the nation and, in particular, to the ferrous metallurgy industry. During the creation, consolidation, and growth of that industry, Gipromez designed several of the largest plants in the industry. The company planned the organization of metallurgical production in the East and the rebuilding of factories in the South and Central Region during the Great Patriotic War (World War II), and in the postwar years it was involved in the construction of new facilities and modernization of existing plants, as well as individual shops and services dealing with all aspects of the metallurgical cycle. In addition to the work done for domestic ferrous metallurgy, Gipromez has been active abroad for over four decades, having helped create and develop ferrous metallurgy in 15 nations.
