摘要
The transcutaneous Energy Transmission System (TETS) uses a contactless transformer to power an implanted artificial heart. This system does not require penetrating wires through the skin, preventing patients from infection-associated complications. We investigate the structures of TETS computationally and analyze the effects of core shapes on coupling characteristics. A coil design with a high coupling factor and a small size is studied in detail. We also study a compensation technique using a single serial capacitor and show that this technique improves the performance of TETS significantly.
