摘要：
The method of curvilinear grids and the method of basis reduction are used to devise an efficient numerical algorithm for studying the nonlinear deformation of shells of arbitrary form, The results obtained with the algorithm are proven to be sufficiently reliable, The influence of initial geometric imperfections on the stability of a ribbed folded structure is studied as an example.
