摘要
Domestic Varieties adapted to local conditions, with high yielding capacity and seeds suitable for freezing and fresh market appeared a prerequisite to increase the acreage of common bean in our country. A breeding program carried out at our Institute aimed: i) to develop, by crossing, a broad-based reservoir of locally adapted variation, n) to find suitable selection criteria which can improve yield most efficiently, iii) to obtain improved varieties. The released cultivars of phaseolus provide grains for direct freezing or canning and also dry seed if the harvesting does not occur at semy dry stage.
