摘要
The present study used two methods to assess strength capabilities. Firstly, speed-related isokinetic measurements were recorded for eight male participants (Mean Age: 20.25yr +/- 1.16). In phase two isometric work-simulating responses were collected for 16 male participants (Mean Age: 20.63yr +/- 2.31). Furthermore benchmark and effort level consistency data for work outputs were established for an adapted Work-Simulation isokinetic strength test where there appears to be limited publication. Isokinetic testing was conducted on a CYBEX 600(R) dynamometer and involved two work-simulating push-pull tests at the following velocities: 30degrees.s(-1) and 60degrees.s(-1). These tests were designed to simulate push-pull actions which are frequently evidenced by Ergonomists working in industry, for example, in the pushing and pulling of carts or manual handling devices (MHD). Isometric testing was completed using the Chatillon(TM) Hand-Held Dynamometer (CSD 500 Model) for whole-body and arms only pushing and pulling with participants standing and seated respectively.
