Solar-like oscillations: lessons from ground-based observations

摘要：
Observations of solar-like oscillations are now being accumulated at a steady pace. Use are now in a position to make solid statements about the properties of solar-like oscillations; and how well they agree with theoretical expectations. We discuss some conclusions that will be to useful in designing space missions such as Eddington. In particular; the occurrence of mixed modes and avoided crossings in evolved stars make it important to have two-colour photometry to aid mode identification.
