A Quasi-Continuous-Wave (QCW) Nd:YAG-rod laser with a 3.8kW output and a 54% optical-optical efficiency is demonstrated by the stable zone control of resonator, which overcomes the limitations of thermal lens effect of Nd: YAG rod. (C) 2007 Optical Society of America
