摘要
Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is the future technology that will comprise a massive number of devices. As a consequence, M2M systems consume a huge amount of energy to handle massive data transfers, which exhaust the devices too fast to maintain the system in a long term. This is the reason which motivates the proposal of an efficient clustering design to decrease this exhausting. This paper suggests an efficient clustering design for M2M networks, which is based on an approach called Optimum Selection of Cluster Heads (OSCH). By applying this design, the minimum energy consumption has been achieved. Accordingly, the network lifetime has been maximized. Extensive MATLAB programs are done to evaluate the system performance with respect to energy consumption and network lifetime. Finally, simulation results illustrate that OSCH approach design outperforms other related previous ones when compared.
