Influence of propagation effects on the performance of a generic Ka-band VSAT videoconferencing system

摘要
The aim of this paper is to present the impact of propagation effects at 20/30 GHz on the performances and availability of a VSAT videoconferencing service. Specifications and system requirements of the VSAT network are briefly described. System performances are simulated time-series data measurements obtained from the ESA's OLYMPUS satellite. The simulations enable to estimate and compare the ability of different fade mitigation techniques and the related link performance improvement.
