The Zebra electric vehicle battery - recent advances

摘要
The Sodium/Nickel Chloride (Zebra) battery has been extensively tested in vehicles since 1988 and more than 1.6 million km have been achieved using this battery. Individual vehicles have achieved greater than 100,000km of battery-maintenance-free driving over periods up to five years with the batteries completing over 1000 electrical cycles. The performance characteristics have been improved to meet the latest car manufacturers' targets and these higher power density batteries are on bench test and on trial in various vehicles.
