摘要
The place of religions in the Brazilian context fits into the historical perspective of power. With the arrival of the republic, there was a change in this interlocution. The democratic horizon has allowed greater openness and dialogue by enabling spaces for different political and religious actors. The focus of the analysis observed here is the articulation between religious concern for peace, justice and the integrity of creation and criticism of the forms and expressions of the Empire. By affirming its strategic interest in religion, the State recognized its political strength and legitimized the discourse of faith that moves the masses, wins votes and supports its character of social cohesion.
