The Development of EFL Learners' Autonomous Learning Strategies in Internet and Multimedia Environment

English as a foreign language (EFL) teaching and learning in China has been an important research topic in the field of foreign language study for a quite long time. This paper studied EFL teaching and learning situation in internet and multimedia environment at present Chinese colleges. It first expounded the definitions and connotations of autonomous learning, and then analyzed the situation and problems of EFL learners' autonomous learning in internet and multimedia environment, and finally proposed several effective strategies to cultivate EFL learners' autonomous learning ability in this new environment.
