摘要
The use of improper learning strategies affects the mental effort of the students. Based on an initial survey, 64.60% of students have difficulty visualizing fractions in school. Therefore, a multimedia approach to Game-Based Learning is designed to help students learn fractions as an alternative learning application. Fractional GBL is an application that helps students to learn fractions using game-based learning techniques blended with multimedia principles. The study adopts a 3-phase development model as the guideline to accomplish the study, consisting of analysis, development, and evaluation phases. This application is tested using user experience testing and user acceptance testing. The respondents (primary school students and teachers) agreed that Fractional GBL is a fun application to play (mu = 4.3). Meanwhile, the acceptance testing revealed the agreement of teachers and parents with the acceptability mean score of 4.1. It concludes that Fractional GBL is an engaging application for students in improving mathematics skills, especially in fraction lessons.
