摘要
Each year ORR investigates a number of railway incidents where failure of communication has played a contributory role. This paper will outline some of the key reasons for this and describe some of the tools and techniques being used for addressing this topic. The railway industry has made a concerted effort to improve the reliability of verbal communications when using telephones and radios to control train movements. The presentation will describe some of the initiatives underway within both the mainline and metro sectors of the industry.
