摘要
This paper describes the implementation of a wireless sensor network for the temperature monitoring of shellfish catches over the internet. Temperature loggers in shellfish boxes transmit data through radio frequency to a base station. The information is transferred to a server vi a the GSM network, where it is processed and uploaded to a database. The web-based interface allows configuration of the network and access to real-time and archived temperature data through any internet-capable device. The system is designed to be completely autonomous, eliminating the need for repeated manual checks. Practical issues arising from implementation of the system are identified and performance of the system during field trials is assessed in comparison with commercially available temperature loggers.
