摘要
A method to optimize the gear microgeometry for durability and NVH quality is presented. Microgeometry design is an essential part of gear design, which can affect durability and NVH quality. Improper analysis tools can lead to low confidence in predictive design, which further can produce over-engineered design. Introduction of an analysis step in the traditional process for microgeometry design enables calculating deflections of the system under load and provides accurate predictions of gear misalignments. This method also offers accurate estimation of the durability of the gears, allowing safety factors to be reduced. It can also be used for microgeometry modifications that may be required to correct for misalignment. Analysis of the gear tooth contact behavior provides useful information for better microgeometry design with accurate prediction of gear durability.
