摘要
The present work provides a facile novel method for the low-temperature synthesis of Li4Mn5O12 spinel, a lithium manganese oxide that can potentially be used for application as cathode material in rechargeable lithium ion batteries, in supercapacitors, in magnetic devices, etc. Pure Li4Mn5O12 has been prepared using pre-synthesized nanostructured MnOOH nanowires as manganese sources and lithium salt at fairly low temperature. XRD, FESEM, HRTEM, and ICP-MS results revealed the formation of perfect cubic phase Li4Mn5O12 nanorods. Based on the results obtained, a mechanism of formation of Li4Mn5O12 nanorod is proposed.
