摘要
Magnetic gears have the advantages of high efficiency and high reliability. The idea that magnetic gears might solve the physical contact problem of mechanical gears has drawn considerable research attention. However, magnetic gears are disadvantageous for implementing high gear ratios because the gear ratio is defined by a combination of the number of pole pairs of the inner rotor and the outer rotor. In other words, increasing the number of poles in a magnetic gear for implementing high gear ratios has an adverse effect on the size and the power density of the magnetic gear. Therefore, this paper proposes a dual-stage type magnetic gear that distributes the gear ratio by employing two magnetic gears, and analyzes the usefulness of the dual-stage type magnetic gear compare with the conventional model.
