Nigeria's poets of Niger delta descent have in recent times geared their effort towards drawing attention to the region due to the catastrophe that has befallen the region. This paper is based on the ecological and environmental pollution and degradation in the Niger Delta region and attempts to highlight the negative effects of modern technology on the lives of the people, their fauna and flora. The damage includes what oil blow outs, spillage, gas flares, and industrial waste have done to their once pristine environment. This study shall focus on Tanure Ojaide's The Tale of the Harmattan and Delta Blues and Home Songs.
