The formation of Cariri in the territorial production of the State of Ceara

The economic activities and political actions of the people who control them allow us to understand how the actions of these groups materialize in the production of territories. Because of this, in this work we seek to understand the production of the state of Ceara, more specifically in Cariri, by the action of the groups linked to the economic activities in southern Ceara. We divide this discussion in two moments: the first one is the formation of economic activities and the construction of an environmental exceptionality of the South in relation to agriculture, and the second one is the articulation of the local elites in defense of a greater autonomy of territorial organization for a greater exploitation of the local agricultural potential. This way, we can understand the context of formation of Cariri cearense and the impacts that the local events allow an analysis of the production of the state of Ceara.
