摘要
The abyssal branch of the global ocean conveyor is constructed on the basis of calculations with the equation of admixture transport using the fields of current velocities obtained in a model of the global ocean circulation. The initial source with a rate of 10 Sv is located in the region of the Labrador Current (55degrees N). In the calculations of admixture transport, we found three additional sources of deep water to the path of the conveyor in the Northern Atlantic with rates of 3 Sv at 35degrees N, 2 Sv at 14degrees N, and 15 Sv at 4degrees N, and one outflow with a rate of 10 Sv at 32degrees S. As a result, 20 Sv of Atlantic deep water enter the Antarctic Circumpolar Current, of which 5 Sv enter the Indian Ocean and 15 Sv enter the Pacific Ocean. We present characteristic sections of temperature and salinity illustrating the transformation of deep water along the conveyor path.
