Thermophoresis of a moderately large, slightly deformed spherical particle is treated. A solution to linearized heat and hydrodynamic equations is derived with the aid of spherical functions with due regard for the temperature jump on the particle surface. The effect of the jump on the rate of thermophoresis is analyzed. The resulting relations are compared with theoretical results obtained previously.
