摘要
The engagement in GPNs looks like a double-edged sword since it can offer opportunities and pose threats to workers as well. This study makes a particular attempt to clarify the close links between enterprises' engagement in GPNs and decent works in the Indonesian apparel industry. More specifically, this paper examines the decent wages and employment opportunities for local workers within the decent work framework in the country's apparel sector with the expansion of GPNs. It finds that although the engagement of Indonesia's apparel industry in GPNs is growing, but the local workers are less likely to benefit from it. Furthermore, despite employment opportunities rising, the wages for local employees remain non decent.
