摘要
Appropriate planning of charging facilities is of significant importance for the development of electric vehicles (EVs). Given this background, a planning model for siting and sizing of EV charging facilities based on zonal charging demand index is proposed with spatial and temporal characteristics of charging demands considered. A charging load prediction model based on the analysis of charging behaviors is first presented. The demands of different charging facilities are subsequently calculated with the inputs of daily energy charging demands and the maximum plug-in number of EVs. Then, the planning region is divided into several disjointed geographical zones, and the charging demand index in each zone determined. Those zones with higher charging demand indices are selected as the candidates for allocating charging facilities. Finally, the planning scenario of EV charging facilities in 2020 in Hangzhou City of China is employed to illustrate the essential features of the developed model.
