摘要
In this paper the empirical evidence pointing that customers are primarily responsible for the results is reviewed. Two types of data are presented: (a) those which demonstrate that people successfully face problems without help: studies on resilience, spontaneous recovery, self-help or placebo effect; and (b) those which show that the users of a psychotherapy are active agents throughout the therapeutic process. Finally, suggestions are made on how to adapt the therapeutic practices to this new vision.
