Establishment and development strategies of growth poles of tourism industry in Liaoning Province

Growth pole theory has a very important role in regional economic development. The theory was introduced for application in tourism industry development in this paper. And the tourism industry location quotient was defined and was used to analyze the growth poles at city scale and tourist attractions scale of tourism industry based on relevant statistical data in Liaoning province. The results showed that the cities of Shenyang, Dalian, Benxi, Dandong and Huludao can be treated as tourism industry growth poles at city scale in Liaoning Province. And the growth poles at tourist attraction scale were established too. And then countermeasures were proposed for rational development of tourism industry in Liaoning Province.
