Nonuniformity Compensation Based on an Improved Kalman Filter for Imaging Systems with Focal-Plane Arrays

摘要
This paper investigates the problem of nonuniformity compensation techniques for imaging systems with focal-plane arrays. The objective is to present a improved scene-based method, which can provide the permanent nonuniformity compensation. The method based on a improved Kalman filter is developed, which adopts an adaptive estimation mechanism of the filter statistical information. Moreover, a nonlinear model is adopted for imaging systems with large dynamic range. The proposed method can improve the performance of nonuniformity compensation. The results demonstrate the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed method.
