摘要
In the past decades, the manufacturing industry has gone through dramatic improvement in productivity, cycle time, and inventory level of manufacturing applying information technology and manufacturing technology. However, the construction industry has not yet been able to enjoy similar magnitude of improvements. The aim of this paper is therefore to investigate which of the normally used procurement forms in the Danish construction industry would facilitate the implementing mass customization. Benchmark results from 2,318 cases were obtained from The Benchmark Centre for the Danish Construction Sector containing information on the realization processes and the integration of customers likely to answer the question of which procurement or contract form that would best accommodate the facilitation of near-mass customization performance. To test this, a one-way ANOVA comparison was used, and it was found that Partnering and Turnkey Contracts significantly enhance the likelihood of facilitating the implementing mass customization than all other contract forms.
