Novel Approach for the Synthesis of Nonuniformly Spaced Array Antennas with Generalized Array Factor

摘要
A new concept of synthesis the sparse antenna array consisting of identical pencil-beam reflector antennas is proposed. In order to sidelobe level reduction, the periodic law of antenna elements arrangement is destroyed due to different phase center displacement of reflector antennas realized by mechanical rotating of feed antenna. Due to creating various asymmetric amplitude distributions of the field in the reflector aperture, it is possible to construct a nonuniformly spaced array with a known law of their phase centers arrangement. Also, the generalized array factor is needed to be calculated for such aperture array. The numerical simulation and experimental results are presented.
