摘要
The antidiabetic, antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of solvent fractions from the aerial part of T. triandra were investigated. The n-hexane (TT-001), ethyl acetate fraction of the leaves (TT-002), n-hexane (TT-003) and the ethyl acetate fraction of the twigs (TT-004) were studied. All the fractions displayed potent antidiabetic activity with TT-003 displaying the best activity (IC50 of 93.74 and 3.40 mu g/mL for alpha-amylase and alpha-glucosidase, respectively). However, TT-004 displayed the best activity for DPPH (IC50 = 424.16 mu g/mL) and FRAP (1116.54 mu M Fe2SO4/mg extract) assays while TT-002 and TT-004 displayed similar activity for ABTS (IC50 = 18.7 and 21.62 mu g/mL, respectively). The best NO inhibition activity was observed for TT-003 (IC50 = 30.5 mu g/mL). Fractions TT-002, TT-003 and TT-004 all exhibited antimicrobial activity against all tested bacteria isolates with MIC values ranging from 0.39 to 6.25 mg/mL and MBC values ranging from 1.5 to 12 mg/mL.
