摘要:
France's double elections in 2022 have altered the political landscape emerging from the double elections of 2017. Emmanuel Macron has been reelected president of the Republic, but he has not won an absolute majority in the National Assembly, where there are three opposing political blocs of equal weight. The president will have to rely on the opposition to lead the country and the government will probably have to make use of the mechanisms provided by rationalised parliamentarism. This opens up a possible period of institutional dualism in which the prime minister will be subject to the double confidence of the president of the Republic - who has appointed him and can dismiss him - and the National Assembly - which can propose a motion of censure - in order to remain in office.
