摘要
This paper presents implementation of space vector modulation based direct torque control (SVM-DTC) of induction motor using economical Spartan-6 FPGA board. The major advantage of FPGA compared to DSP processor for implementation of advanced control algorithms like DTC is parallel processing and less execution time. The major drawbacks in practical implementation of conventional DTC are variable switching frequency and high sampling frequency to implement hysteresis controllers. Whereas SVM-DTC operates at constant switching frequency and does not require high sampling as hysteresis controllers are replaced with PI controllers. The VHDL code for SVM-DTC with PI controllers is simulated, synthesized using Xilinx ISE 14.3 design tool. The proposed VHDL code is verified experimentally by interfacing VSI fed induction motor using Spartan 6 XC6SLX25 FPGA board. The experimental results show that fast dynamic response and improved steady state response is achieved in SVM-DTC of induction motor.
