A curve fitting method based on the direction tracing

摘要
Object recognition has widely application in robotic vision and industrial inspection. The aim of object recognition is to recognize the individual object under the complex background, but certain objects will lose some information due to being partially occluded, so in this paper, we recovered the original shape according to the unsheltered information approximately. At the beginning, we adopt the morphology method to extrude the edge; and then we use an improved gradient image algorithm to trace the edge of the object, and finally calculated the direction angle and the direction sign; On the basis of the characters of the edge points, we determine the form of fitting, extracted and recovered the shape of the object.
