Phase equilibria associated with crystal growth of barium metaborate β-BaB2O4

摘要
For the BaO-B2O3-Na2O system, part of the phase diagram is studied. The section BaB2O4-Na2O, which is most frequently used for P-BaB2O4 Crystal growth, is unstable. The compound Na,BaB2O5 does not exist. The compound NaBaBO3 is identified and characterized. The eutectic of the BaB2O4-NaBaBO3-NaBO2 partial ternary systems lies at 41 mol % BaO, 41 mol % B2O3, 18 mol % Na2O, 750degreesC.
