摘要
In the view of the power supply problems in western China: sparse load, long transmission distance, large loss, and obvious voltage drop, most traditional power supply techniques have high investment costs and long recovery periods, which cannot meet the requirements of the grid's economic operation anymore. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a novel technology: power electronic compensation substation for the extension of service radius and quality improvement of power supply network in western China. Through experiments and analysis, the technique can not only realize the automatic compensation of line voltage, but also improve the transmission quality effectively and reliably. Also, it shows obvious superiority in terms of investment cost, line loss, recovery time and other technical-economic indicators compared with other existing technologies, which is of great importance to the construction of electricity in western region.
