摘要
Al-Cu-Mg Open-Cell Foams were heat-treated and mechanically analyzed. The foams were fabricated by the replication casting technique with Al-2.1Cu-1.25 Mg (wt.%) with NaCl grains as preform. The yield stress increased with the aging time, showing a maximum value at 24 h. As the aging time increased, the Plateau region shortened, being attributed to the precipitates formation. The aging effect on the mechanical behavior improved the energy absorption capacity. The variation of the energy absorbed was attributed to the cell walls hardening. This study contributes to the development of a new generation of heat treatable opened cell metallic foams and its strengthening mechanism. (c) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
