Neuropathological studies of brains, genetic studies, and functional imaging techniques have provited evidence that a cerebral dysfunction may account for dyslexia. Cognitive neurosciences permitted different subtypes of dyslexia to be distinguished. Impaired temporal processing could explain several aspects of dyslexia.
