摘要
This study evaluates the physical properties of concrete concrete made with a new type of rapid-hardening hydraulic cement know as Ultimax cement. The properties are compared with concrete containing,ASTM Type I/II cement. Field evaluation was conducted to test the fast-setting properties of the cement. This study shows that improved physical properties can be obtained when using Ultimax cement in concrete A workable 7-1/8 in. slump concrete with one day compressive strength of 6080 psi (41.9 MPa) at a water-to-cement ratio (w/c) of 0.30 can be obtained without adding any admixtures. The 28 day compressive strength of ultimax concrete varies from 3900 to 9270 psi (26.9 to 63.9 MPu) at w/c of 0.30 to 0.50; The 90 day shrink age of concrete containing Ultimax cement ranged from 277 X 10(-6) to 390 X 10(-6) in./in. at w/c of 0.30 to 0.50. At 90 days, concrete made with Ultimax cement exhibited up to 74% less shrinkage end 69% less expansion than concrete made with ASTM Type I/II cement.
