摘要
In this paper we study Eco-literacy a term created by the physicist Fritjof Capra, as a way of transforming and enabling human beings to create a sustainable society, based on systemic knowledge and sustainable development; as well as its developments for the 1988's Brazilian Constitution's article 225 fulfilment, which says that everyone has the right to an ecologically balanced environment, as well as being responsible, for this environment's defense and protection for present and fixture generations. Therefore, for the general objective, we identify education based on Ecolfabetization and its contribution to the achievement of a sustainable society as well as environmentally conscious human beings who are capable of defending and protecting the environment. For the specific objective, we conceptualize Ecolfabetization, sustainability and environment. In this research we try to answer if the current education system is prepared for training individuals for environmental ethics and respect? It is justified by its academic and social relevance, according to the reflections and contributions of ecological literacy, highlighting the need of empowering human beings with new skills based on systemic knowledge and for a sustainable human development. As the methodology, we applied the inductive logical base through bibliographical and documentary research.
