Towards a unitary S-matrix description of black-hole formation and decay in string theory

摘要：

We present an explicitly unitary S-matrix describing trans-Planckian superstring collisions in a region of the energy-impact-parameter space bordering with the black-hole production threshold. Properties of the final state are found to resemble those expected from Hawking's evaporation process even well below the expected threshold of black-hole production.
