摘要
We investigated the effect of Cu addition on the FePd alloy. We sputter-deposited nonepitaxially-grown L1(0) Cu-alloyed FePd thin films with (001) textures. The FePd films with different Cu contents were deposited directly on Si wafers without a seed layer or a buffer layer. All film thicknesses were 15 nm, which was achieved by adjusting the number of multilayers, n. After the deposition, the samples were annealed at 500 degrees C for 30 min. The results of X-ray diffraction indicate that a ternary FePdCu alloy was formed. The addition of Cu to FePd is more effective for enhancing the (001) orientation, with the (001) orientation increasing with the Cu content. Evidence shows that Cu alloys with FePd by substituting Fe or Pd in the L1(0) structure to form ternary FePdCu films.
