High voltage gain in photo-assisted charging of a metal-air battery

摘要
A photoelectrochemical cell employing a photoanode made of a CdS/TiO2 combined photocatalyst and a Zn foil as counter electrode functioned as unmediated photoelectrochemical battery (PEB) with more than 2 V electric tension gain for charging the battery. This gain is by far the largest so far reported. The photoelectrochemical cell consumed ethanol as organic fuel supporting the idea of using organic wastes as power source for light-assisted charging of metal-air batteries. (c) 2020 Elsevier B.V.
