摘要
The adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) has recently gained increasing attention in the smart cities context. Given the relevance of this topic, the aim of this paper is to conduct a literature review to investigate the role of AI in the different sectors of smart cities. The methodology used in this study combines the systematic literature review in order to identify the most relevant studies, and the citation network analysis to unfold the dynamics of the field under study. The results of this research show not only the importance of this technology that plays a key role in several applications within a smart city but also the challenges that it brings to cities and to citizens.
