摘要
The rationale for this research is to more efficiently produce higher yield and uniform linerboard grade pulps, as compared to the Currently applied manufacturing technologies, by using a modified kraft pulping stage preceded by green liquor pretreatment. The pretreatment stage is considered a low capital method that employs mill green liquor at the end of cook. Since, typically, the green liquor has a high sulfidity-to-alkalinity ratio, it is ideal for significant improvements to pulp properties. Manufacturing of linerboard grade pulps has been accomplished in the laboratory, by pretreating the industrially supplied southern pine chips with varying concentrations of green liquor and anthraquinone (AQ). The influence of the pretreatment level of the green liquor, pretreatment time, AQ, kraft cooking AA dosage and H-factor oil the properties of the pulp obtained was investigated. The potential benefits of this green liquor pretreatment pulping technology for paper industry are reduced alkali digester consumption, shortened cooking times and pulp yield increases.
