Effect of nitrogen and phosphorus on 'MP Chari' sorghum (Sorghum bicolor)

摘要
An experiment was conducted on forage sorghum during the rainy season (kharif) 1989 and 1990 to study response of nitrogen and phosphorus. Green forage, dry-matter and crude protein yield of 'MP Chari' sorghum increased significantly with increasing levels of nitrogen from 0 to 100 kg/ha. While significant increase in forage yield was obtained with the increasing levels of P up to 40 kg P2O5/ha. The dry-matter and crude protein yields increased significantly in the total yields as well as at the stage of first and second cuts of the crop with the application of 20 kg P2O5/ha.
