Lubrication efficiency of S-gears

In the presented paper we briefly introduce the crucial characteristics of S - gears. We compared involute (E-gears) and adequate S - gears. Parameters influencing lubrication of gears are discussed and comparison is made between S- and E-gears. We focused our attention on the lubrication circumstances at the mesh start. We calculated tooth flanks approaching velocities, how oil film builds up and its load carrying ability. Three different situations are represented regarding gear and pinion tooth approach: gears without deviation, gears with tangential displaced teeth and gears with deviation of centre distance.
